Application Process

On behalf of the entire staff and website I would like to take a moment and welcome you to Heroes Never Die [HND]! We are excited to see that you have decided to join us and cannot wait to see what it is that you will add to our already insane collection. However, before you begin the application process we ask that you read the following message to eliminate any confusion that may arise. While filling out your application please follow all of the guidelines and do your best to meet the stated minimums. We expect you to maintain at least one hundred [100] words in every paragraph - we will run the entire item through a word processor if we feel it does not meet these requirements - , a third person point of view, and proper grammar unless otherwise noted. Of course this process is not all about meeting requirements and making the application look proper for we want you to show us what you will add to the character as well! It has been well over five years since the season two finale and a lot has happened in this period of time; character develop has bound to have occurred during these years. The most important item to note in this process though is that plagiarism will not be tolerated in any form. If we find that you have taken information directly from another application, website, or wikipedia the application will be denied without discussion. As a side note, all members should ‘bump’ their application once it has been completed in full. One may ‘bump’ their application every seventy two [72] hours; any additional notices will be met with the appropriate consequence. All completed applications will be reviewed within seventy two [72] hours of the initial ‘bump’. This is critical for the simple fact that the staff may not realize a completed application is, in fact, complete without one. If you have any questions during the application process do not hesitate to pose your question to a member of the staff. We are more than willing to assist all of our members – both old and new - as they continue to expand our realm.

The following contains information that one may require when completing an application. 001. This is a set of instructions concerning the process required to retrieve the application code: Once you have opened the application thread select the "QUOTE" button above the application itself. This will open a new window in which you would normally post your own text. From here, select the box where the code is displayed followed by "CTRL + A" on your keyboard to highlight the application code. Now that you have done so, press "CTRL + C" on your keyboard to copy the application code. Locate the Application Database on the website's homepage and select it; you will then access the Working Database where all new applications are stored. Once you have done this select the "NEW THREAD" button at the top of the page. This will open a new window in which you can begin your application; nothing should be displayed in the box. Begin the application process by pressing "CTRL + V" on your keyboard to paste the application code. After this locate the "quote" sections of text at both the top and the bottom of the application. Once you have done so delete everything within that set of brackets, including the brackets. The application will now be properly prepared. 002. This is a set of famous locations in the DC Universe as well as their location on Earth-16: Blüdhaven, Connecticut Central City, Missouri Gotham City, Connecticut Happy Harbor, Rhode Island Jump City, California Metropolis, New York* Smallville, Kansas Star City, Washington Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana *New York City has been replaced by Metropolis which means that the former does not exist; all references to the former should be switched to the latter.

Last, First FULL NAME Your character's full name. This includes first, middle, and last. ALIAS Your character's alias. Remove this section if not applicable. ALIGNMENT Your character's alignment. This is either Hero, Anti-Hero, Villain, or Civilian. AGE Your character’s written out age in the year 2021. An example of this is twenty rather than 20. ORIGIN Your character’s place of origin. This should be the city and state in which they were born unless they are from another planet. APPEARANCE A written description of what your character looks like. This should include physical details such as body size, eye color, hair color, distinctive markings and scars, etcetera in addition to other details such as costume design and what clothing they wear on a daily basis. The minimum length for this section is three hundred [300] words and it cannot be copied from another website. PERSONALITY A written description of your character’s personality. This should include details such as ambitions, dreams, fears, how they act around others, etcetera. The minimum length for this section is three hundred [300] words and it cannot be copied from another website. ABILITIES A written description of the abilities that your character has; this can be done in paragraph or bullet point form. The minimum description length for each ability is two sentences. It cannot be copied from another website. EQUIPMENT A written description of the equipment that your character has; this can be done in paragraph or bullet point form. The minimum description length for each piece of equipment is one sentence. It cannot be copied from another website. WEAKNESSES A written description of the weaknesses that your character has if they have special abilities such as cryokinesis, pyrokinesis, terrakinesis, etcetera; this can be done in paragraph or bullet point form. The minimum description length for each ability is two sentences. It cannot be copied from another website. HISTORY A written description of your character’s history. All items included in this section should be cohesive with the other character’s on this website as well as the current plot. Please review all the accepted applications which may affect your character and information in Directory > Handbook > General Information. If a character which you plan on including in your history has not been approved yet, you have the freedom to do as you wish as long as it is considered plausible. Original characters are not permitted previously established interactions with canon characters. The minimum length for this section is five hundred [500] words and it cannot be copied from another website. SAMPLE A sample of you role playing the character which you plan on portraying. The minimum length for this section is three hundred [300] words, though we ask that you write more if you can. Do not include any special formats that you would use on the forum in this section. FACE CLAIM Your character’s face claim. This should be an actual actor, celebrity, or model. NAME Your OOC name that you use in the CBox. TIMEZONE Your timezone. PASSWORD What is the password found in the regulations and consequences forum on the board? Please keep in mind that this will change periodically and will be removed once the application has been accepted. HOW YOU FOUND US How did you find us? Was it through an advertisement or affiliation? What type of website had you seen us advertise on? You do not need to list the actual website that you found us on, we just ask for the type.
