WITCH LIVES

The Realms are in a time of crisis. The Blight, a sickness with an unknown origin, first struck the Blood with merciless force five years ago. Hitting the Queens and dark-Jeweled Blood the fiercest, this plague leaves no survivors. In the short time that it has been spreading, the Blight has already destroyed Dhemlan, Terreille, and the Territories surrounding it. In Terreille, only the Territories in the far west have yet been untouched by the plague. Refugees flock to the Shadow Realm, and Kaeleer is experiencing its first waves of the Blight as infected Blood cross the borders of Territories. Dhemlan, Kaeleer already has a serious outbreak, and Little Terreille has also been hit hard.



Travel between Territories in both Realms is difficult and expensive, as borders have been closed down. Security is at war-time levels, and fear is creeping through the Realms. Blood from all walks of life are searching for a cure, but none has been found. Priestesses preach of judgment, of the Darkness calling in her debts. But the Black Widows and Healers can see that this is no cleansing — it is complete annihilation. It is only a matter of time before the Blight spreads into every Territory, until there are no more places to hide.



But hope still lives. Kaeleer is alight with the rise of a new Queen in Glacia — a Queen who wears the Black. Could it be that Witch has come to undo the horrible Blight? Or is she to be the harbinger of the Darkness' cleansing fire through the Blood?
