The genetic rarity of a person with an active metagene has long been one that humans passed off as an item of legend. These people, the ones with great power and abilities which the average person could not comprehend, were only ever thought of as ancient deities and fables, but modern day history has proven that these stories may be more than simple fiction. As the human survival rate has increased more persons with abnormal abilities have been reported and today there is no denying the fact that something - or rather inhibited evolution - has granted specific persons immense power. The highly ostracized White Maritain race is one that was not always considered weak on Mars. Nearly a million years ago they were the superior Martian that hailed over both the Green and Red Martians. It was during the end of their power that they chose to look into their neighboring planets, thus leading them to travel to Earth where they discovered the early ancestors to modern day Homo sapiens. The alteration of the human genetic code which followed was a desperate and futile attempt to establish their supremacy in both the new world and their own. In the end it would only lead to their demotion on Mars and a hindered evolution on Earth as the metagene would be recoated to an un-coded portion of deoxyribonucleic acid [DNA]. The supposedly peaceful venture to Earth by the alien species known as the Reach was an item that concealed a plan to enslave the human race and a side endeavor to dwell into the workings of the human metagene would be launched a few weeks after their landing. On February 20th, 2016 Queen Bee began kidnapping runaway teenagers for experimentation purposes by the Reach. All subjects were placed in a medically educed coma and stored in Bialya before being transported to a Reach Laboratory in the Mariana Trench, Pacific Ocean. On March 39th, 2016 a large number of abductees who were poised to be transported from Star City, Washington to Bialya were freed by Young Justice and returned to their guardians; none were experimented upon. On July 04th, 2016 the Reach were defeated by the Justice League and Young Justice in collaboration with LexCorp. All remaining abductees were freed from their confinement with two weeks time.

The supposedly peaceful venture to Earth by the alien species known as the Reach was an item that concealed a plan to enslave the human race and a side endeavor to dwell into the workings of the human metagene would be launched a few weeks after their landing. It was during this time that hundreds of runaway teenagers would be kidnapped and experimented on, though the vast majority of them would be rescued by Young Justice before the experimentation process. By July of 2016 the entire invasion would be aborted with only a few of their ships left behind. Lex Luthor, a member of the Light and owner of LexCorp, would seize this opportunity to better his understanding of these genes by gathering all of the information these ships had to offer before destroying them, thus setting in motion the Everyman Project. On January 16th, 2020 LexCorp began kidnapping runaway teenagers to experiment on, though a handful of candidates would be the ones that proved viable as twelve percent of the human population would contain a variation of the metagene. On July 23rd, 2020 LexCorp publically announce the Everyman Project and began asking for volunteers to be experimented on. The maximum number or patience would be reached within sixteen hours of the announcement of the project mainly due to the fact that nobody knew of the prior incidents. On September 01st, 2020 LexCorp finished their voluntary experiments and stated that they would only conduct the metagene exposure process on those who were willing to pay for the procedure and any medical expenses that followed. The operations run by LexCorp in concerns to metagene research are active today along with the Everyman Project, though not without precaution of course. The unlocked DNA sequence has only been unlocked to allow the most minimal of powers to appear and each person was secretly injected with a failsafe during the procedure, something which allows Lex Luthor to deactivate the powers of an individual or even kill them if he feels the need to do so.
